Sensing Dark Matter
Sensing Dark Matter transports viewers into a speculative reality where advanced technology enables us to perceive dark matter. Using VR headsets and spatial audio, participants navigate the universe, experiencing cosmic forces.
To create Sensing Dark Matter, the celebrated Taiwanese artist Su Wenchi and her team of collaborators embarked on a residency at the Stawell Underground Physics Laboratory – one kilometer underground in regional Victoria – and collaborated with leading scientists at the University of Melbourne.
Sensing Dark Matter re-imagines the science behind our universe and gives participants the opportunity to have a close encounter with one of the most mysterious forces in the cosmos: dark matter. This remarkable VR journey offers us a unique vision of our connection to the hidden fabric of the universe.

《暗宇之感》引領觀眾進入一個奇妙的想像世界，在此世界中先進科技讓我們得以感知平常無法看見的暗物質。參與者戴上VR頭顯，沉浸在環繞式空間音效中，自由遨遊於宇宙間，親身體驗宇宙力量的奧妙。
蘇文琪與她的創作團隊以三年時間打造這件作品，深入澳洲維多利亞州偏遠地區地底一公里處的斯托威爾地下物理實驗室進行駐地創作，並與墨爾本大學頂尖科學家密切合作。
《暗宇之感》以創新視角重新詮釋宇宙背後的科學原理，讓參與者能近距離接觸宇宙間最神秘的力量之一 - 暗物質。這場非凡的VR之旅帶給我們獨特的體驗，揭示了人類與宇宙隱形結構之間深刻而神秘的聯繫。

It’s a short journey, only 17 minutes, but a heck of trip.”
